The Chicago Navy Pier is pretty big. It sticks out 3000 feet (900 meters) into the lake. BriForum is almost all the way at the end of the pier. To help you find the conference, we put together this little photo tour:
This is the main entrance on the pedestrian side of the pier. (The south side is the pedestrian side, and the north side is a road where cars can drive to park at the various venues at the pier.) If you're walking, you'll first walk through the red "Navy Pier" gate shown here.)
Just through the gate you'll notice Joe's Be-Bop Cafe. This is where the party will be on Monday night. But for BriForum, you have to keep walking down the pier!
Walk past the Ferris Wheel...
Walk past the Shakespeare Theater...
Walk past the RIVA and the red & yellow awning place...
Finally, you'll see some glass doors that look like this. This is how you get to BriForum!
If you see the Beer Garden, turn around. You went too far! Do not go to the Beer Garden instead of BriForum! (Actually, you see those windows in the brick building behind the beer garden? That's where BriForum is taking place. It's just that the entrance to that section of the building is before the beer garden.)
Here's an overview thanks to Google Earth:
We've built a custom Google map with push-pins for the locations of the various BriForum 2008 Chicago events.
