Proposal and Acceptance Procedures

Proposal submissions: A presentation proposal should consist of a position paper which may be supplemented by a draft deck of PowerPoint slides. Proposals must include sufficient material for the reviewers to make an informed decision. The position paper must clearly represent the essential matter proposed by the speaker and identify the intended audience, including any prerequisite knowledge of attendees. Position papers must be no more than one page or 500 words, and must include enough material to provide a sense of the scope and the depth of coverage.

IMPORTANT: We highly encourage submitting interactive or hands-on technical presentation proposals instead of rather theoretical sessions.

Each presentation time slot at BriForum will be be 75 minutes. If a proposal, however, indicates that the presentation will require more time, it should be split into two parts.

If the proposal is accepted, the presenter(s) must provide a summary of the presentation that will be published on the BriForum website and in the attendees' conference guide. It is, therefore, crucial to write a session summary that clearly describes the topic and why it would be of interest to the BriForum audience.

Summary Contents

  • Title of session
  • Name of presenter(s)
  • Presenter Bio(s)
  • Level of session - beginner, intermediate, advanced, all audiences
  • Duration: 75 minutes
  • Abstract (up to 150 words)
  • A few words about who this session is for.. What you assume they know before attending, etc.

If your proposal does not contain these seven things, we're going to send it right back to you!
